Best man

by tackie   Jun 12, 2006

Along the way of unknown path;
He came along and taps my back.
We were best friends since that day,
Were always together day by day.

Each day with him would make me smile
For a reason, I don’t know why.
Is it because he’s there for me,
Or should I say I am carefree.

Every time I am with him,
It was like I’m floating in the wind.
I wish these days won’t be over,
As I feel his arms so warm and tender.

But just like a movie I have seen,
He went away without a glimpse.
I don’t know what’s wrong or what did I do?
There’s nothing now I could do.

Months have passed still I’m longing
For a friend, oh where am I going?
I don’t want this feeling of emptiness,
It’s killing me, my life’s a mess!

A man came with a bag, and hand
A letter, ask myself from whom?
I flipped the envelope on my surprise,
It’s an invitation from someone’s wedding.

I hastily open in excite,
The letter which I’m not sure if mine.
Oh what on a world that I felt then,
I saw his name in print, men!
I don’t know what to feel.

The wedding day came along,
I can’t resist, oh I can’t hold on.
Help me God I can’t move along
The aisle, I think I’ll faint (oh! not this time).

As I walk on with head looked down,
My hands shivers, my oh my!
I wish I never accepted this,
It would be better home and drink, oh I am pissed.

Now I know just what it feels,
If the one you love was own by someone.
I wish I’m the one standing next to him,
Not the one to give them blessing.
