Life's elements

by courtney   Jun 12, 2006

Hope can heal the broken heart and brighten the light of day,
Faith can rise the crippled to walk and hold our doubts at bay.
Love can teach the world to sing a melodious song so rare,
while passion keeps our hearts alive, but also strips us bare.
fear can stop us in our tracks and make us turn and run,
while hate can turn our hearts to stone, drying in the sun.
Through life we run, as if searching for the light,
Through death we find the uselessness of putting up a fight.
