You know, I love you,
and I know you love me.
No one knows it's true,
I dont understand why that could be

When we are together,
we must only appear as friends.
You say it is better,
if they think we came to an end.

I see the love in your eyes,
I know you see the same in mine.
You said we must tell them lies,
and with that you drew the line.

Although I want more,
you say this is how it must be.
I wish it could be like before,
when we shared out love openly.

I know I must not whisper a thing,
I feel lost within dismay.
As I ignore the brutal sting,
