The boy who's fading

by Carli   Jun 14, 2006

He looks at me with confusion
I can see the pain in his eyes
It hurts
I can feel it
I can see his mistakes, his sorrys
His lies
He's been through hell
Making wrong choices and bad decisions hiding behind the truth
He's pleading for a look, for attention
He knows I feel his sorrow
Be he won't admit it or talk to me
I think the years have worn away
He tries to hide it, but I see
I see
I see what he's done
All the things he wants to take back
It's too late to pick up the pieces
So I sit back and watch him fade to black

Beautiful imagery. I love "train of thought" type of poetry rather than "rhyming for the sake of rhyming". It's great.
