Coming To Grips That My Life is All You Ask of

Coming To Grips That My Life is All You Ask of

i long for the comfort of someones warmth across my cold skin
something to make me feel alive once again
but this time I don't want it to fade from my grasp
I want it to last long past the sinking feeling of mortality
because I long for more to life than this simple reality

what is it that i have not come to grips with in this escape I call my dreams
when looking past the emptiness means I must come apart at the seams
bearing my heart and all it's hardly working parts that strive to make me live
but what was it in this life that I never had the chance to fully give

here is my broken soul laid before your throne
a spirit that hardly works, though it's not my own
you have already captured my heart with your love
i only wish i had more to give to you because my life is not enough.
