Misguided opinions

by tamara   Jun 15, 2006

Forever complaining about life\'s misconstrues,
we expect to find assurance and certainty,
as we watch life go by.

falling on our selfish ways,
we admire those who achieve their goals
and wish that we could have a chance to share their success.

instead of taking a risk and alternatively having a go,
we hide our inner beauty because we\'re so afraid
of being put out of our comfort zone.

is it wrong for us to think about the future, by
wondering what it would be like without the
something we\'re trying to let go of?

is taking precautions and thinking realistically,
the right thing to do because it provides
an understanding of what might be expected?

we have been taught and we have seen so many
ways of life that can be considered as \"living\"
that we find ourselves trying to contemplate the truth.

how can we learn right from wrong when so many aspects of life
share meaning and reason? How can we live life to the full,
if we\'re too scared of gaining experience?

we find ourselves commiting minor crimes because
we think we\'re proving a point.. we think that we have
apsolutely nothing to lose.

yet really, we\'re determining life.
we are throwing away oportunities and waiting
for reality to reemerge.

our behaviour and level of interaction with our past,
sets what we need, away from what we want.. our commitment
to life\'s possibilities, decreases.

we constantly lie and we often assume,
so that misguided opinions,
may be altered or developed.

by witnessing the effects of heart-ache and sadness,
we lose sight of what is morally correct.. we steer ourselves,
in the wrong direction until all hope is lost.

we criticise other's imperfections so that we may be percieved
as strong and confident.. we manipulate one's mind into
thinking that what we say, goes.

when faced with a challenge, we are often proved wrong
about something or someone.. when questioned about
our opinions, we are left speachless.

we struggle when we encounter not-so-easy decisions
and we expect an educated respone from our
immature approach to life.

we run from our mistakes.. from our past.. from our insecurities,
because we feel stranded and alone
in our complex, yet simple surroundings.

it would take the tiniest bit of courage
for one to say that life is what they have made it..
yet our stubborn mind, says otherwise..

we drift through life; watch things form..
watch people escape.. or we swim through life;
we take responsibilty.. we set goals.

it is up to us as an individual, to make choices..
to take advantage of life's hapiness.. to agree
or disagree with opinions.

life is simply what we make of it; we either take it for granted
by misinterpreting things or we accept what it has to offer
by making everything count.
