Love Stems from Hate

by tiger lily   Jun 16, 2006

A single seed may seem like nothing
For what is its value?
It is just small, hard, and cold
It is empty- like hate

What possibly could hate provide?
It just has a place in the hard frozen grounds
For it is well suited there during the snowy season
Winter is harsh- and it welcomes hate to its turf

However, winter passes- it fades
It angers when it finds out it must go
So what does it do to prevail in some way?
It leaves behind the ice-stoned seed to spread hate

Spring showers come, along with some warmth
It melts what winter has left
But what of the little seed of hate?
The showers do provide the means to let it grow

The seed- it blossoms into something unknown
The object is distant at first
But the sun's warmth opens it- hold your breath
Has hate come to life? Behold the new creation

It is something of remarkable beauty
Its red petals open, free, so unexpected
Love has stemmed from hate
It is a more powerful and amazing force
Love has blossomed from the very depths of winter
