A Whisper

by alex   Jun 16, 2006

He watched her avoid his gaze, draw back from him
time slows down, words caught in his throat
fingers tremble with the memories of her face, porcelain and fragile
He opens his mouth to say something, her eyes full of hope
then hes frozen trapped in those luminous orbs swimming in tears
he coughs and tries to speak but nothing comes up
she laughs bitterly, trying not to cry, shakes her head and walks away
he tries desperately to say anything, to beg her to stay
but the moments over and only a whisper escapes
Im sorry.
