Through your eyes

by Lisi Browning   Jun 17, 2006

When I look through these broken eyes
all I see is your anger inside.
All I see is the hurt you share
with me every day.

People who seem to have it all
really have nothing
or no one
on which to call
because in the end
who really
can you call your friend?

I see the broken smile
on your beautiful face.
You tear me inside
because of the tears you try
not to cry,
and deep inside
I still try
to understand
the beauty within your pain.

People who seem to have it all
really have nothing
or no one
on which to call
because in the end
who really
can you call your friend?

Though I try
to stand by
and try
to comfort you,
I can't fully understand
the beauty within your pain.
You seem to have it all
but have nothing
because who can fully understand
the worth you see in one man
and the little
in the other?

***My friend was having problems with this one guy she loves because this guy hasn't spoken to her in months and they had this really intimate relationship, and she says she was stupid because she had broken up with him (which is why he hasn't spoken to her) and she was having more problems with her dad, and she wanted to be moving in with this guy friend of hers I don't know how long ago..so it all inspired me for this poem.
The two guys is why I have the last lines:
"the worth you see in one man
and the little
in the other?"
so..yeah. As you can tell this was a while back*
