Beauty of the Grave

by Lisi Browning   Jun 17, 2006

Another day has left us
Just as another life.
While we mourn,
We too are in Death's sight.
Beautiful is she
Dressed in black
She stands away
Off into the night,
But do not be afraid
For she knows when it's your time.
You do not see her, for she takes you
In her arms quicker than a blink of an eye.
Lo, she's sometimes slow
In taking you home;
Sometimes she's quick,
But in the end
Our soul sticks
To it's destination.
The body knows not where it lies
In it's sweet time
Of beauty
For life is priceless,
But in death we find eternal peace.
For the earth we return to
Is the earth that was once in beneath our feet.
And now, we and the earth are one
