The Devil Before Us

by Kyra   Jun 17, 2006

I sit and shiver cold at night
My eyes they hurt from the blistering light
I shudder as a cold wind passes through
I cry at joyful thoughts of you
Outside there is a movement
And then a sound
I lay so broken on the ground
Footsteps coming up the hall
The sound of bars shake the wall
Faint voices in the distance scream
As if I was in a terrible dream
The lights turn on and off at will
And the sickly smell of a fresh kill
We are all one person
Condemned not free
I wonder were we all will be
In this jail I sit and stare
And think of why I never cared
