The Time

If you took the time
to see past my exterior
past what I allow you to see...
you would know the real me.

If you took the time
to listen to what I say
and even what I don't...
you could understand me.

If you took the time
to actually converse with me
instead of always yelling...
you would actually enjoy your time with me.

If you took the time...
but you don't.
It's much easier not to...
much easier not to know the truth.

If you took the time...
but you won't.
I am obviously not worth it to you...
not worth the chance getting to know.

If you took the time...
but you can't.
You would realize who I am...
I am myself; nothing more, nothing less.
