Yearbook

It was just another day at school,
But a special one indeed,
I had my yearbook in my hand,
About ready to read.

He then came into the room,
With a smile on his face,
I guess he was just really happy,
To soon be out of this place.

My yearbook still had one empty page,
Where I hoped that he would sign,
I gave him the single pen I had,
And he said, "Here sign mine."

So I signed his yearbook,
With meaning in every phrase,
I'd known this kid forever,
But sometimes it felt like days.

Then he began to sign the page,
That had the empty space,
A couple minutes later,
He had a look on his face.

Another girl had come to ask,
If he would sign hers too,
So I just kind of blew it off,
Even though I was kind of blue.

After he finished writing hers,
I saw it was longer than he left me,
He had known this girl a year shorter,
And this kind of hurt to see.

I had been through so much with him,
Cried so many tears at night,
But he could never see this,
No..he had no sight.

He treats me like I'm nothing now,
After all of that shit,
I guess that now I've decided,
That I am done with it.
