Silent sins

by lexie   Jun 19, 2006

I lie awake,
another long night,
the darkness all around me,
the sound of birds makes me cry,
i wish i was one of them,
so i could fly from here,
and right to you,
the cold of winter surrounds me,
just like my heart is numb,
this pain is too much,
i want you here,
come lie with me tonight,
and the sins we commit,
we never have to speak of,
and when the morning sun rises,
we'll look into each others eyes,
let us never have to say goodbye,
and darling i know this isn't acceptable,
the world would never understand,
but i dont care what society says,
all i want is to be with you,
so come lie with me tonight,
no one has to know,
and the sins we commit,
no one has to know.

Beautifully written! Love your use of how you just yearn to be with this person not matter what the consequence! I can relate!

    "this pain is to much,"
    'too' not 'to'

Reminds me of Romeo and Juliet, the sex scene before Romeo has to flee from fair Verona. Something about the lack of acceptance in society. Besides, there's that one line from the play where they say something about sin...like "let these lips sin once more" or something...
