No Heat

No Heat

Running through the yard so bright
I always kept you in my sight
You a mature boy so tall
And me a little girl still playing with her doll
You could do no wrong
The bond that held us together was so strong
We were so different
But together all of our childhood was spent
I would still sneak up and spy on you
My life was still so innocent and new...
When we grew up you said you would marry me
We even wrote love letters and hid them in
dumpsters so no one would see
One day we put our hands together
And saw they were alike
And you knew it was you this little girl's
Heart would always like
Even though I knew we were
Being watched by Jesus from above
Still many arguments did end in a shove
Together to Alaska we would travel
And see how our life would unravel
When playing dare did our lips first meet
But we were so young there was no heat
We grew up so fast...
And I didn't think those feelings I had,
As a girl would last
But I still have this love for you
And today it still continues to be true...
