Walking through the fair,
I did not quite notice his stare.
As I looked in the tent,
Reality seemed all distorted and bent.
It was as if I was with clowns,
Yet, none of them, like me, had frowns.
I considered myself sadden and dismayed,
Realization hits, I earn no pay.
I move to the next game,
No reward from this shame.
Down into the building for arts and crafts,
Turn to the water coaster, where I'll sink with no raft.
After I'm all wet,
I realize my debt.
To the popcorn stall I go,
Then turn to the final show.
Monkeys and dogs balancing on balls,
It feels like im bouncing from wall to wall.
It soon becomes dark,
They're closing the park.
With my last couple seconds,
The gate thats shutting beckons.
That broken one to the side,
Thats my carnival ride.
