Weeping Child

by Rebecca   Jun 23, 2006

With a warm supper interrupted
and your cozy nap offended
you sulk about the offender.

A Wailing child
what a unbearable thing
with his uncontrolled weeping
it causes pain in your ears
it makes your head ring.

Never slicing you heart,
this unbearable thing.

Did you ever stop to ask,
What pain makes this child scream?

I’ll tell you why this child screams,
for you are to blame.

For you hear the screams, cries, and pleas,
you see the bruises, blood, and bone.

But you have never FELT why he screams,
she screams for justice, love, and delight,
for he has never known laughter, hope, or counsel,
she screams in fear, painful agony, and hunger.

Yet with the persistent beg for someone to hear,
someone not to cover their ears.

They lay naked and hungry dwelling on this idea,
that someone will listen to there desperations.

There is but one divine soul who will help them shed their tears.
