Time and the Whirlwind of Life

by Timothy Bledsoe   Jun 24, 2006

In the Eye of the Storm
I will live
The calm
Engulfed by Destruction

Serene
I will stand
Arms outstretched
Listening to the Wind

Surrounded by Desolation
I will sing
My voice
Counter-pointing the Cacophony

Outside
They will watch
The things they love
Turned to dust and blown away

Fearful
They will run
Searching always
For a place to hide

Life's foundation
They will never see
Greed makes them thirst
Fear moves them

They blame me
Serene in the Eye
While they refuse to see
They bring the Destruction

Wow, that was an amazing poem. Like Dre4meR, It's hard to explain what I feel about the poem. I just know I really liked it. Keep up the great work.

Not a bad poem at all! I like the theme...I've written several poems about this (though they are not posted here). I find that defending against hatred and destruction is a very important topic that needs to be touched on more...especially in today's society.
