Kiss goodnight

by Bonnie Rose   Jun 24, 2006

I can't help but stand on the edge
of our life's tonight,
and i'll stand reaching to the night sky,
blowing the stars a kiss goodnight,
letter in my pocket, i just wish you'd never sent it,
because i know you didn't want to,
"its all for the best"
so i hope for the worst, with you by my side,
these letters, and phone calls lie,
they don't show our face,
so i said, meet me tonight
in our special place,
sitting on the park bench,
i was always early, you always late,
and you came, just sat in silence,
arms around my waist
and it was perfect like our old days.
