A more perfect end

by Nicholas Savelle   Jun 26, 2006

Beating within my eardrums are a shrill of silent screams
Might they too echo as the gasps for air from failing lungs
Prepared to fight for a dying breath; another second longer
That grip on your own hand fading; eyes staring
Sightless, lips still quivering and her final words still dangling
Hanging in the air, poised, prepared to strike
Transfixed; How unbecoming death is; yet they settle
And the moment ends; the heat of her blood
Whispers on cold lips; whispers on this, my lovers tongue
And ohhh, what she would say could she see me now
Yet softly, speaking nothing; A more tragic good-bye
How a sound of nothingness pierces, cuts into the soul
Hindered in thy retreat in an embrace: a kiss upon death
That walking away is impossible; Her cute now a scar on your life
Forever altered the more; and hold precious these moments
\"I couldn\'t have pictures a more perfect end.....\"
