I See The Real You.

by steph   Jun 26, 2006

You smile at me but I know itâ??s fake
I know that sooner than you realise youâ??ll break
You laugh as if itâ??s normal for you
But really I know thatâ??s not true

I see the tears being held back
I see that inside you feel empty and black
You donâ??t realise I see your clenched fists
And occasionally Iâ??ve seen your scared wrists

Donâ??t hide from me Iâ??m your best friend
Please, I can help your heart mend
I do see the anger you hold
I know you feel lonely and cold

But then I look a bit closer into your eyes
Look a bit closer and I see so many lies
I look a bit closer and realise I hate you
I look a bit closer and I no longer see someone I knew

I open my eyes a bit wider
And I realise youâ??re an outsider
I reach out to strangle your throat
I succeed but it was me all along as I begin to float
