Longest Summer

by Erica   Jun 27, 2006

For Molly Marie

Three months never felt so long
Without you here, it feels so wrong
You're part of us, we're part of you
And with you gone, we're torn in two
With warm tears falling down my face
I left you with my last embrace
I hated to have to see you cry
You watched us go and waved goodbye
Summer fades away with time
But in between, I'll draw a line
Twelve weeks walking in one direction
But distance ruins love's perfection
I'll be right here when you get back
I promise you I won't lose track
It's the longest summer I remember
See you sometime in September
