Theirs

by Melissa   Jun 28, 2006

I watch them laugh or fight
Like they've never been more comfortable
They live their life
As if there's no feeling more subtle
They're so in love
And still best friends
As if no hearts have been stolen
And poisoned with sin
Look in their eyes
And the past doesn't show
The pain doesn't linger
Only recognizing what is now known
No pain admitted
Only forgiveness to offer
Love is shared
No emotions are bothered
*
What a feeling longed for but not allowed
They took him from my sight
But let him stay by sound
Although out of this life
Not out of this heart
I wish I had the courage to fight
But disappointment makes it hard
*
There's enough love
To risk others hate
But not theirs
They made me this way
If they saw what I see
They'd witness their love
Through two other beings
Their love isn't one of kind
Just an example taken
Then personalized
