Her sweet sorrow

by Iyla   Jun 28, 2006

She stays in the shadows, in the darkest corners
her deep black clothes keep her hidden
she closes her eyes, and watches her memories
longing to enter a place that's forbidden

she's six years old, and riding her bike
laughing, as her father watches her
she smiles, and her eyes light up
walking down the hill was her mother

she's ten years old, and swimming in a pool
playing with everyone that came to her birthday
they are all eating cake now and opening gifts
everyone is making her feel special today

she's fourteen years old, and sitting in her room
watching as her mom plays with her brother
it seemed that they were having so much
so much fun they forgot about her

she's sixteen years old, and crying alone
wishing she were dead, not fitting in at home

she wishes she could go back, rewind time
she wishes she could go to the forbidden white land
but instead she is filled with sorrow, and pain
as she's hiding in the death filled black lands...
