Can't trust a demon

by Natalie   Jun 30, 2006

Consumed by the darkness
My lover and I
Made a decision
That was not so wise

A demon was calling
From below the ground
She wanted the souls
The citizens of our town

Don't get me wrong
We knew it was bad
But she promised us power
Which we wished we had

So house by house
We stole and killed
With knives and guns
And drowned little kids in the bathtub filled

And when we were finished
There was no power
Only despair and regret
Of the blood in the showers

The demon had lied
Just wanted to turn us dark
Which she did and we are
We were left with a mark

From now on we live
Aloof from civilized towns
In fear that the urge to murder
Will turn smiles into frowns

Very good poem on the human conditons. Well represented and I loved the small add ins of drowning kids in the bath tub and blood in the showers. Although one typo, bathtub then you put filled after it. But other than that....5 stars.
