My Gentleman's Heart

by Rachel D Fogle   Jul 4, 2006

Long ago you told me that you were untamed.

A lion in the ruff, a mark of your own name.

Your heart was not wanting to love in anyway, you had loved and lost so much you could not withstand the pain.

Then we touched, and kissed and made love. And the emptiness seemed gone and undone.

You were my awakening and you were my gift. To realize and know that your heart was open was rewarding and a wonderful gift.

Along our way, we have battled and fought. Trying to find that place we lost.

Your life is my life, together we are one. Without the other, our choices hard won.

We bring each other comfort.
We bring each other need.
We love, we loose we complete everything.

My gentleman's heart, was wounded away.
It has healed on its own, and been born a new man.

You were a good man before. Lost in your way, from heartache and pain.

Now you are a great man, thoughtful & true. No anger in your motives with those you love, only un-wanting pain for those you knew.

I love you, beyond all that is.
You are my heart, you are my sin.

In this direction of love and life,
We are what is, and life is what will have us.

I hope it continues, my gentleman's heart.

For without him or I, life would be unhappy and left drifting apart.
