An Indelible Mark

by Mark   Jul 5, 2006

Breaking the constant horizon,
An expected light triggers an unbroken cycle.
Twenty-four hours and seconds tick towards this end.
Thoughts abound as I ponder permanence.
Transported within the day's cycle,
Impacts of the legacies left by others abound.
Measuring my individual values in existence,
At the end of the cycle,
Is what remains at its next beginning.
At the end of our cycle,
What is carried over is driven by our ambition.
What is remembered by those remaining in the cycle,
Is the measure of our merit during our privileged existence.
Knowing what ambition leads to merit is the challenge.
The challenge of embedding your uniqueness in the cycle of tomorrow
is to live forever in the lives of your progeny.
To inspire others to also create more than is consumed,
As the horizon marks the end of this cycle.
