Bittersweet

by Tine   Jul 5, 2006

You brightened up
almost every single day
of the dark life I had
and the darkness you blew away

when the sun had made a smile
come upon my face
you were pretty statisfied
and for a while you stopped the chase

I took you for granted
and trusted you for every part
my soul I had handed
it to you and that wasn't even hard

but you betrayed me
that hurt me deep inside
and all of our memories that I see
are so bittersweet that I just want to hide

Hide beneath the surface
of a fake lost me
the person that because of you
was gone, and now carefree

but here she is now
back again
hiding from you
and our bittersweet memories

Thought that it was going to end on a different note but it was good. A similar theme played by many but this had this nice use of words and well the flow in itself was off every now and then but the content and words made up for it. Cool write.

    [I liked that stanza alot.]

This was a really good poem. I think I seen what contest you entered this into. Anyways. Good luck with that. I'm sure you'll do great! Keep up the great work! 5/5
