Simple Gifts

White hair, pale faces
Canes by their side
Sweet cookie aroma spread
Swirling amongst our head
Indulging our mind
In enriching white laces

A quick smile and a wave
Replenishing summer flowers
Planting love at sight
Giving plenty of light
In this everlasting hours
Moment forever saved

Home sweet home Darling
A hug and a peck on cheek
Simply to show love
Songs from high above
Waiting for the warming peak
Where our hearts are bounding

Precious notes underneath
Written with velvet lips
Ways of Graditude
Away from solitude
Nude emotional tips
Warm desire swirling beneath

Small Flattery released
A bit and a dab of faith
Affectionate touch
Emerging something lush
A glow upon a face
Further pain is eased

Simple gifts are the best
To Inspire something more
Not what money can buy
But easy ways to try
Some ingredients from the store
Make every moment last

    The style was fine, absolutely nothing wrong with that.
    I liked it, but didn't like it. I don't particularly favor poems that use lots of abstract to pull forth feeling, an overtone, or an idea. I like concrete majoritively. If concrete is mixed with abstract, like you do in your first stanza and last stanza very well, I like it. If you I gave you any tips I would say to try and not stray toward abstractness too much. Then you are calling upon the connotation of the word to pull forth something that may not be there.

    I really liked your style of rhyming!! It tricked me at first, but once I saw how it worked, I really enjoyed it! It made it interesting and very different. What prompted you to write like that? What ever it was, it was a great idea.
