Broken Glass

by Ms Joanna Dark   Jul 7, 2006

My heart is made of glass
Fragile and already cracked
To survive cupid's arrow
The odds are highly stacked

A gusty wind could blow it over
And smash it on the floor
Pieces lost and broken
It can't be perfect like before

Falling in love is dangerous
The catcher could sadly miss
Shattering a fragile heart
Murdered by a simple kiss

The pieces could be glued together
But some are broken just too far
And even with the strongest glue
It'd be burned with an ugly scar

Paper can be recycled
And even a glass heart too
But it would go unnoticed
Because people like them new

You could build a steel wall
And keep it heavily protected
BUt everyone would walk by
A broken heart gets rejected

Fixing them takes work
And a very patient will
You can try to just move on
But broken hearts can kill
