It\'s my book

If I were to write a book about my life
It would be thick with many pages
The cover would be hard
Like the shield I try to put up
The spine would be weak
Much like my own
The dedications would be short
For I have not many close people in my life
The table of contents
Would not be filled with happy titles

It would be a fairy tale with a happy ending
Or a beginning filled with hope
Some pages may be crinkled from tears
Others ripped out of anger
And some may be missing parts
Of things I tried to forget

I couldn't say it would lift your spirit
Touch your heart or make you smile
I can't even guarantee you would understand
But thats my life
and thats how it is
I didn't pick it but I made the choices
So maybe you wont agree with it
Or just think I'm crazy
But it's my book,
Don't tell me how to write it.
