Memories

by Kris Vanderwall   Jul 7, 2006

As I sit in my chair thinking about the past

I can't help but remember how time has gone so fast

It seems like just yesterday I asked you out

Asking with confidence and a shadow of doubt

Not doubt about you, for of that I was sure

But doubt about me, that made my path blurred

I sat and I pondered for days and days

Thinking about how I would act and what I would say

For this had to be just right,

This question would determine my dreams flight

When you said yes my heart skipped a beat

Just being with you was gonna be neat

Being with you has changed my life

Just the sight of you eliminates all my strife

Through all my memories like grains of sand

You've been there holding my hand

Without you I'd be a mess

But when I'm with you I feel the best

Sure we've had our ups and our downs

But we had each other to eliminate our frowns

The times I was down and felt like dirt

You were there to make sure I didn't hurt

We can make each other smile

Until we're rolling in a pile

I can't think of anyone else I would've rather had

To share these memories, both good and bad

So as I sit and think about our memories

I'm glad you were there in all or them

The good and the bad

I love you now and forever
