Reflection

No one wondered as she fell to the ground
No one asked as the tears started to fall
No one knew she was lost and wanted more than anything
To just be found.

No one knew her heart was barely beating
No one understood her laughter wasnt real
No one saw she wasnt breathing

He stared at her
Even smiled a little
Why should he care?
After all it wasnt his fault.

Thats what she said
To that boy that broke her heart
She said Its not your fault Im almost dead.
Its not your fault Im torn apart.

Why did she lie?
To protect his feelings?
Why?
He never cared.

She never saw his true self
Looked past all the flaws
Put them on a shelf
And then hit pause.

And there they sat
She never again pushed play
Why would she do that?
Then he would not be her perfect display

She thought it was love
Never once wondered if this was lust
Never wanted to see it
Never wanted to feel the disgust

To her he was perfect
To the world
He was wrecked
She didnt notice.

After denying herself for so long
She took a good look
And saw that something was wrong

His image reflected off that glass
And forever she was changed
How could she think it would last?

He isnt perfect how couldnt I see?
She laughed as tears fell down
We couldnt be further from meant to be.

She turned away
And pushed him aside
She ran faster than ever
Never again would he lead her Astray.
