Mother

by Lee   Feb 27, 2004

I stand here almost a galaxy away from you,
Wondering if you even remember my face,
I call out to you through the distance,
But words cannot express how I feel.
I listen for a guiding voice,
To take me to where you are.
A tear sheds from my eye when I think of what you went through.
Was it hard, mother, to let me go?
Do you even remember my smile?
If I came to you, would you push me away?
All these questions I have built up inside,
But who do I go to for the answers?
So still I stand here thinking about you,
With not but a dream or your presence,
Hoping that one day you'll hold me tight,
and never let me go.
