Dad

by Kyra   Jul 9, 2006

You never leave me alone
For a second of my time
You always sit around home
Saying every job is mine

I hate it when you yell at me
And get mad for nothing at all
But when you say I'm stupid
It drives me up the wall

You've never understood me
The way you say you do
I wish that you could try to see
That its not just all about you

I know that certain things you do
Are for my own wellbeing
But that doesn't mean that you
Have the right to stop me seeing

You contradict the things i do
But never set it right
And thats why everything with you
Ends up in a fight

I hate it when your angry
And do the things you do
You never speak to me
When all I want is to be loved by you

I could never say before
The things I'm saying now
So the pain just got more and more
And id just keep breaking down

Although we are mates
Were not without our qualms
So every comment we make
Are not without there charms

I loved the start reminds me of my times at home.
But with my mum, dad and brother not just my dad.
I understand your hurt and fustration.
You showed it through the poem ver effectively.
But you lost it at the end.
    still a very good poem.

Great emotional use. Ending is more deserving of something else. Nice job though. Some pointed words brought about something pretty good on the emotional level.
