Inner Child

by enfant du tordu chagrin   Jul 10, 2006

In a world crowned in shadows
In a city swamped in pain
There sits a little child
Crying in the rain

He's sitting all alone there
No one offer's aid
He's lost and oh so lonely
And he's starting to fade

He's so far from comfort
He hurts in every bone
His mind and body hurting
Wracked in pain with every moan

No friends has he to help him
No way to stay alive
And this small lost child
Is fighting to survive

This world is not far
This city's truly near
For he's my inner child
Right in my heart here

Last stanza kind of gave me shivers down my spine, but I don't mean it was scary, I mean it was touching - very emotional write. Although it's sad, it's also very beautiful.

I'm not too great at leaving long comments but you always put so much into yours so, I'mma give it a try. ^_^ This poem seriously gave me cold chills everywhere. It's that weird feeling where, ya'know, you're just reading and it's at the end but you can't move or think. "Wow" is really the only way to describe this. A perfect write. ^_^
