Call us Even

by Emily   Jul 10, 2006

In her own way
(And slightly risque)
She crosses the room
Awaiting a reply
In a moment She'll regret
She'll forget you made her cry
Her nervous whimper is washed away
When the cold comes through the window
She sits down in a chair
Far away to torture you slow
She's losing confidence
Like perspiration
This wasn't for your pleasure
It was for her vindication
She doesn't want you back
She wants you to know your blame
To leave you breathless in wonder
To redefine her name.
The desire in the room
It's become so contagious
She went from intimidated
To so daring and vivacious
Is that lipstick, or is it wine?
She knows the day
But forgot the time
She'll tell you what you lost
Not who she was
She'll tell you that you'll never
Find another you can love
She'll tell you she's not hurt
(Not a lie, an understatement)
You didn't submit your dues
So she's looking for your payment
She has a broken heart
She knows that isn't even
So read the fine print
"You'll hurt when I'm leaving"
You find that true
As she inches to the door
Was your relationship lust,
Or could it be more?
She doesn't want you back
She wants your attention
Now that she has it
She's found her redemption.

- Now it's Even.

It wasn't really supposed to rhyme, but it was another light night spur that I had to act on.
