A Day In The Life Of Suicidal Friends

by xxkurtcobainxx   Jul 10, 2006

Why can't we ever face all our pain
Why do we have to give our problems a name
The blood's being poured, and you're missing out
You came to the fork, and you couldn't choose a route

Indecisions are deadly in this strategic collision
Examine your thoughts with careful precision
No one knows it when they go crazy
Maybe that explains why your memory's hazy

Eyes are glazing and whispered words become loud
Everything's new and there's suddenly shapes in a cloud
You hate your medication and throw it all away
Drugs have become your prescription for today

Tunnel vision brings a forced smile to a scar
Parking lots are being painted with a brand new black tar
They remind us of the remnants of a shattered womb
A photo of who's now six feet under in a tomb

Why do we feel the need to expose ourselves
We exploit our feelings and stack our lives on the shelves
You were the first to refuse what you were given
You were under the influence, but the car was still driven

There wasn't really a car and you aren't really dead
It's a symbolism I guess for the addiction you fed
Depression lingers behind a dark wall
It's waiting for you to either jump or fall

Hitching a ride from an old friend
There's blood on all the letters you send
A warning of what might soon be
The chance to wait expectantly

You dump me on the abandoned street
You pushed me out of the old car seat
No symbolism this time, you're leaving for real
You say I can't go because I can't feel what you feel

Maybe there's a part of me that does
The part that questions what is and what was
So I'll meet you on that bridge and we'll jump together
Holding hands, crystallized in the water forever
