Fragile...

by starcrossedlvr   Jul 11, 2006

My heart beats faster
when we are falling
this is our last year
of falling faster and faster
Into this crater of ash of love.
There are dead hearts here.
Blue, no life,
Never to beat again.
Those used to be my hearts.
I heal, can trust again ready for love.
but then my heart dies again.
Blue, no life,Never to beat again.
Just to heal, Just to brake.
I'm fragile, can't you see that?
You squeeze my heart tighter and tighter until it dissolves.
You take my heart over and over again.
You brake it in half.
I give you everything of me.
You took my soul, my heart and my laugh.
You took everything.
Until I have nothing left.
And I am doomed to walk this world as a shadow.

I enjoyed this poem. It brought back memories of young love, how we give ourselves so freely yet seem destined to crash and burn.
The final line sums up the content of the poem well and creates (for me) a very powerful image.
    Good effort. Well done.
