The Log By The Beach

by Pablo   Jul 11, 2006

I met her on the beach
On a hot 4th of July
She was looking for her brother
I was looking for a sign.

She tripped on my foot
And landed on her face
As I helped her up
She only said thanks.

She took off runing
And i sat there watching.
As fate would have
A boy of six or seven
Walked by me weeping looking
For her lost sister.

I took his tiny hand
And walked by the beach
We found her crying under
A palm tree.

When she saw us she jumped
Onto her feet she lifted little Roy
And hugged me. We took him to His parents, they unaware of the Occured and we left them walking
By the now rising moon.

I took her to a place away
from the people and we sat
on the log by the beach as we
Spoke of each other.

On that log I believe we spent
About an hour then she kissed me
Goodbye and said " See you tomorow."

The next day we met at the same
spot. The log by the beach was the
Witness of our goodbye.
With a soft kiss and a sweet "bye bye"she gave me her treasure
Her gold locket.

Time went buy and I grew up
I bought the property with the log by the beach. I built me a house
not fancy but warm and every night
I went to my backyard and sat on
The log by the beach.

One day the doorbell rang
I knew it was her
She hadn't changed a bit
And her daughter looked just
Like her.

Long beautiful straight
brown hair with
big breath taking
hazel eyes.

She introduced herself and her
daughter. Anna they were named.
And at that moment I knew why
she came.

I told them to wait
As I went to my room
I opened my dresser and took out
Her long lost gold locket.

I walked back to the room
And there I kneeled down
I told little Anna " I want you
to have this." and then said goodbye.

She left with her family really a Family of three. And the only
Thing I could do was go to my
backyard and sit on
The Log By The Beach.
