Slaughtered Silence

by Ana   Jul 11, 2006

A brilliant light appears
Like an army of silver spears
A hundred people dead
Swim in pools of bloody red

A goddess dressed in white
Interrupts the deadly fight
Her black hair flowing down
Her breath the only sound

All eyes are glued to her
The bloody mess a blur
They fall right to their knees
For their queen they wish to please

Her misty ice blue eyes
See the distant pain-filled cries
With a silent wave of hand
She walks upon the land

Bent down upon the dirt
Along the dead and hurt
She dips her slender finger
Into blood that wished to linger

It slithers down her wrist
Does a gentle graceful twist
One glinting ruby gem
Another to condemn

The unshed crystal tears
Reflect the fighter's fears
And she's up upon her feet
The cold replaces heat

But as she turns to leave
A gentle sigh she chose to heave
And an outraged cry breaks through
It's fierce yet gentle too

A glint of mighty gold
Flashes through the cold
A spear a fighter flings
Through the bitter wind it sings

She down in one great sweep
It sends her off her feet
Her body to the ground
Once more there is no sound

The queen has been slaughtered
Her begs and weeps unheard
For as she turned to die
A single phrase she wished to sigh

"I just wish to say
That every day I pray
For this war to come to end
And my heavy heart to mend."
