My Family

by Ana   Jul 11, 2006

The stars and the sun
Seem to radiate heat
Lash out their fingers
Until hands should meet

The wind seemed to whistle
A cry in my ear
‘Go.’ It would urge
‘Run away from here.’

The rain pitter pattered
On my shoulders and head
Tears of the innocent
Cry here on my bed

The clouds kept a sail
In their ocean blue sky
Sometimes in packs
Sometimes lonely with time

The ground is my mother
She’s there when I call
She’ll reach out and catch me
Should I threaten to fall

The moon is my Father
With his warm pale face
With ‘goodnight’ he rests
Watching me from his place

The trees are my friends
They will always be there
Without them I’m nothing
I still crave for their care

The rivers and oceans
Are the others around
They surround me in circles
The Up of my down

The animals and plants
Are my sisters and brothers
Some bigger, some smaller
Some smarter than others

The forests and mountains
Dare I call them home?
Forever my palace
Where my feet calmly roam

The snow pure and innocent
Floating from the sky
Is forever my blanket
From now ‘til I die

And as nature grows,
All around me I wait
Until the time when I leave them
Is it destiny or fate?

So goodbye to my brothers
Mother, Father and friend
Take my love with you
From here on end.
