Confessions

by Ana   Jul 11, 2006

He's screaming harshly in my ear
His arms flailing about
His eyes brimming with unshed tears
His voice breaking with doubt

With one single out take of breath
The worry in his eyes
He's dialing digits on the phone
As I swim in these lies

A simple toss is all it takes
And fate is in my palm
I hear a voice saying 'hello'
It seems a bit too calm

I whisper back those faithful words
And a moment's silence comes
Then he replies with calmness
And my heart beats with the drums

Now my mind is whirling fast
The memories of the day
Flashing past my closed eyelids
My mind too weak to pray

Give me back my stolen heart
Take away this pain
Wipe away the tears I've cried
Before, now and again

Take back the promises you made
Take back your hundred lies
Come back when you are ready
To watch as this once whole soul dies
