I Shouldnt Have

I drove down the road and had a few drink
The road was wet from the rain that night
I never saw the car coming toward me
I swerved and slipped crashing into her
I sit on the side walk watching everyone in panic
The cops the fire fighters and the paramedics
I look at the family members as they start to cry
Worried that there baby might die
The rain starts to fall by the buckets and pounds
I put my head on my hands and look at the ground
The Ambulance speeds off to try and save the girl
But little do they know they are to late
The police come over and test me for alcohol
Turns out i was 5 times over the legal limit
They hand cuff me and send me away
That teenage girl didn't deserve to die today
It was all my fault if i would have not drunk and drive
Maybe that girl would still be alive
Ive been in rehab and everything else
But nothing will make me forget the look on her face
The pain and suffering it broke my heart
From now on i tell people not to drink and drive
Maybe i can help save another life
