Man Of Rightousness

by pvbeth   Jul 14, 2006

Sleepy eyes are resting tight
they dream sweet dreams throughout the night

perfect skin so soft and smooth
a lullaby they use to soothe

tiny hands and tiny feet
are covered by a tiny sheet

the moon shines bright on the delicate face
of a child of beauty and amazing grace

a miracle sent down to a glorious earth
to live a life of greatness and worth

years pass by and he grows fast and strong
into a man who has done nothing wrong

he has lived a life so pure and true
that people will ask "who are you?"

and he will look into their eyes of sight
and say "behold it is I, Jesus Christ."

the people will kneel and follow Him to
the many lands He must traverse through

they help with His journey and they spread the word
that Jesus is here, come all who have heard

and many people will come to receive healing
from Him who has come, so they begin kneeling

then all to soon Jesus is taken away
leaving many followers lost and astray

Jesus carries a cross made of wood
up to the hill where others stood

they drove nails through His hands and nails through His feet
they put a crown of thorns on top of His head wishing to see His defeat

when they did not, they tore open His back
with a whip so strong it did it in one single whack

they still beat Him though and left Him for dead
and then Jesus slowly lowered his head

He died upon that cross for everyone
so we all may live with Him when we are done

as we worship Him, let it show
and let us carry His word to all that don't know

so they then can help Jesus bring people to their feet
and we all can see the devil's defeat.
