Beautiful Memories

by Connie   Jul 14, 2006

How very fortunate our family was
To have such a terrific Mom and Dad!
They loved each one of us unconditionally
Never ever did we question it - no, not ever!

We were raised in a good Christian home
Going to Church together every Sunday morning.
I remember setting in the same pew each week
Listening to Mom and Grandma sing hymns from memory.

Family was always so very important to both Mom and Dad
So after Sunday lunch to our grandparents we would head.
Laughter and fun times we always had there
Adding one more chapter of beautiful childhood memories!

Desserts were always Mom's specialty
Her apple dumplings could not be beat!
Add her pies and cakes to the list...
No wonder we grew up loving sweets!

Dad always loved working in his yard
Spending many hours a day weeding and trimming.
From raspberry bushes, grapes, and rhubarb...
To his prize sunflowers that grew so large!

Mom and Dad have now passed on, but...
I am so grateful for the love and support they gave me.
If everyone was as lucky as me to have such great parents
Oh, what a wonderful world this would certainly be!
