The happy couple

by kate   Jul 17, 2006

He looks the other way
while she pretends every thing's all OK
just living life from day to day
she looked so perfect with her painted smile
they look on with ignorance and
bliss
she hopes it'll get better in a while

this special private eden
neither will Miss
he knows he's not what she needs
she wonders if there's something more
the woman next door plants evil seeds
for that question of if
lingers in her thoughts

the lovely wife sits and stares
her husband nowhere to be seen
she wonders if he cares
or whereabouts he's been

she thinks about leaving
but life has moved along
the kids know some thing's up
they think she's in the wrong

she heaves a sigh
and lets it go
her words fall flat and turn to bile
she wonders if anyone will never know
but she looks so perfect with her painted smile
here's to the happy couple
