My broken heart is mending

by Heidi   Jul 18, 2006

Every passing minute,
You're spent crossing my mind.
I can't help but think of you,
& this pointless love crime.
Your smile I can see,
As I look in the face of him.
His eyes I no longer see,
As I wonder it is I you miss.
Will you be back,
After this long, lonely year.
Or will you stay away from me,
And no longer be near.
Are you thinking of my eyes,
Are you longing for my lips.
Is this feeling love,
I pray you need my kiss.
Things rapidly changed,
As you mentioned her.
You suddenly fled out of my life,
As I had recently told myself your love was pure.
So while I sat devastated,
Thinking of what went wrong.
You said you were sorry over and over,
And we had just been together for too long.
Isn't true love supposed to last,
'A lifetime' you had said.
But you didn't use your heart in this relationship,
You only used your head.
So with heartbreaking memories,
And painful years of my past.
I still sit here praying,
That maybe one day you'll be back.
With a confession of true love,
And a hand to reach out.
I pray that one day you'll smile at me,
And say you love me without a doubt.
Though I'm back on track,
And I'm finally starting to let you go.
If you ever came back to me,
It would be hard to say no.
We went through so much together,
Our hearts once pure.
Now that I am mending,
My broken heart has found its cure.
