Pretend Thanks

by Mary   Jul 19, 2006

I would like to take the time out
To tell you how much you mean
I would liket o say thanks
For giving me a place to lean

Thanks for pretending to love me
Thanks for pretending to be there
Thanks for pretending to be my friend
And thanks for pretending to care

Thanks for the pretend friendships
And all the pretend laughs
Thanks for pretending and letting me believe
This whole friendship just might last

Thanks for the so called kindness
Thanks for the pretend advice
Thanks for making me cry
And thanks for pretending to be nice

Thanks for all the suffering
Thanks for all the hurt and pain
Thanks for not telling me sooner
Thanks for the nothing that Ive come to gain

From this whole pretend experience
I think Ive learned a lot
Don't assume someone's your friend
When in reality they're not

Thanks for everything you've done
And for treating me so wrong
It hurt me at the time
But in the end, its made me strong
