Staring at the screen, I can’t believe the words I’m reading
This is it, its over, but truth be told, it never really begun.
The internet was my modern dream world
It’s where you were, my secret, no one knew about what we had.

Now I suffer in silence.
The pain is too much to bear.
Feelings shown in screen names,
The internet is now my nightmare.

Can you really love somebody you’ve never met?
Can you trust that somebody, that somebody you’ve never seen?
That’s what I did, I loved you, I trusted you, but you still broke my heart.

Blinded by the pain, now I can’t even read what you’ve said.
Funny really, this screen, on my computer,
Has been the window to my life, now my life is dead.

Diamond tears roll down my face,
They form a river round my heart, my new defence.
They cut my heart off from the rest of the world.
I won’t let anybody in again.

I trusted every word you said,
Believed in every thing you told me.
I realise now, that technology isn’t everything.
All it did was carry your messages of love,
Now, its only messages of emptiness that it will bring.
